Acer Aspire V5-552-8404 15.6-Inch Discounts

Jim (NY) :
This laptop was to replace a desktop that has been used for general browsing and word processing. I also wanted to add something that would do well with Premiere, Lightroom, and Photoshop. I know I could have spent $1000 in something with an i7 and discrete video card but this has been more than good enough. I knew from mass exports in Lightroom that my work Laptop with an i5 was slower than our other home Laptop with an A8. On the downside I am sure that I WILL be spending another $30 to make the RAM to 8GB.

TCCC143 (MA) :
Probably the thinnest laptop I have ever owned. Feels solid, no give in the when handling it. Still need to get use to Windows 8, but the laptop seems to hold plenty of power to handle games, video and multiple tasks just fine. It is very quiet, I never hear the fan, and it has not once gotten warm while in my lap.
I wish the battery life could be a little better, but for the price you cannot go wrong.

Judith Lindsay (NJ) :
Loving this laptop by Acer! So lightweight! I call Acer laptops 'workhorses' as they have all worked great for me and my family members and are so durable. This is my 4th Acer laptop. Just be aware of two things; it does not have an optical drive for playing cd/dvds (I ordered an external one), thus making it ultra light. I can carry it to class without noticing it. Also Windows 8 does not have Word or Excel programs, but I see I can get it online for a minimum monthly charge through Microsoft. I knew this going in to it but had to search around for this information, so wanted other potential buyers to know it. I am completely happy with this laptop!

M. Morell "Marvin" (Las Vegas, Nevada USA) :
I would give this laptop a Four except that its battery life is quite poor. After adjusting the power settings for minimum power, I have trouble getting more than three hours from it. Acer should have give it a larger battery. Acer doesn't have a larger battery available for after market either.

Mohammed Chaudhry "Choi" (USA) :
The item arrived in top condition... Kudos to the seller... Also was looking for something on a budget... This machine does much more than that... It gives you the specs of a high end laptop in an affordable package... Just the very best for the price... If this machine just had a touch screen then it would be the BEST... But hey already getting a lot for the price... Acer has done a very fine job...

Merril Lyew Emanuel "bücherwürmchen" (California / Deutschland) :
Had to return the unit, because it was not able to boot. No media backup of the OS it was asking for. Tried three times with the same result. After ten minutes, put back in the box and returned it. Perhaps it was damaged by the way it was handled by the carrier. In any case, my first bad expirience in buying online.

Acer Aspire S3-391-9606 13.3-Inch Discounts

CT shore (NY) :
This laptop is thin (0.7") for an ordinary laptop and weighs only 3 lbs., but I would not classify it as an ultrabook or netbook. It performs as well as any computer I've used, presumably because of the Core i7 processor and 128 GB SSD drive - bootup is quite fast, and now that Office programs have been tweaked, startup is fast there as well. The keyboard is comfortable, and overall this is a high quality laptop that justifies the $950 price I paid for it. The downsides are: the trackpad is hard to navigate, even after you try to configure it, and the graphics display is not as good as I need (1366 X 768), especially when it is displayed on a 22" monitor (but you may need to go straight from the Acer's HDMI out to HDMI in on your monitor, which I don't have). It was delivered promptly, and there wasn't too much bloatware to remove, so after installing Office, etc., I was productive with it right away.

Kevin Youel (CA) :
This laptop has worked great for me. My only complaint is that I wish I had a bigger hard-drive. But the Solid State hard-drive is really fast and runs very quiet. I love it!

K J (USA) :
Lightweight, thin, and good battery life. Gets about 6 hours with brightness down and on power saver. Other than that, does everything I need.
UPDATE: Be careful with Acer and SSD's. Mine just failed, with no warning signs. Make sure you have your data backed up at all times. No telling when it will break down. I've read about others having a problem with the SSD from Acer as well. Luckily Amazon took it back for a refund.

Acer C710-2055 11.6-Inch Chromebook Discounts

David Wintrich (New Berlin, WI USA) :
I have never written a review before, due to the fact i have never felt the need to. This is a great supplemental computer. I not sure I would have it for my only computer for now but i can see it becoming one in the near future after some needed upgrades (Skype for one). If it had Skype it would be the perfect computer for deployed military members. I have been deployed multiply times so when i say that i want you to know where i am coming from. It is quick and exceptional for travel. People complained about the weight but that complaint carries no weight. 4 1/2 stars is what it deserves but that's not a choice. I would recommend to other computer users who like to explore new IT solutions. Acer is the way to go with this....not the other choices.

Tholian Web "RJ" (Newark, CA USA) :
I love this little giant of a Netbook. I have a Kindle Fire HD-7 but found the fonts to small. Being in my late 50's and vision being being a real issue. I found the Chrome book the best value for the buck. If all you need is a good Netbook for bill paying, web browsing and basic use then this will be just fine. Having the ability to use Wifi and ethernet is excellent. The Chrome OS does not need any Virus protection and upgrades itself and you never really know it.It comes with a larger battery than the C710-2487, but has a "baby bump" on the bottom that adds a little more weight. A batt charger also comes with the book. The only two items I would suggest is the Case Logic 10-11.6 sleeve cover and a Mouse (easier to use than the finger pad). Its ready to rock when you open the lid.!! Don't wast your money on laptops that have more bells and whistles that you really don't need.

Ray Gen "raygen" (El Segundo, CA USA) :
The Acer Chromebook exceeded all my expectations. The three usb ports, VGA and HMDI make it VERY versatile and friendly to other devises. Fast, reliable, and steady connection to wi-fi. Decent battery life that doesn't drain away in an hour like others do. It's a peppy, little machine. If you are looking for this type of device, this is a good one.

Acer Aspire V3-771G-6814 17.3-Inch Discounts

Tom A. (DE, USA) :
I wont get too specific but I would like to say this, it runs smooth, sound quality is excellent, I can run ALL the Total War Games to max settings, as well as Skyrim which should indicate that this Baby will not only be able to handle the upcoming Rome 2 game but also most other games. By the way yes this is also a good Laptop for COD and Battlefield fans! Gaming laptop on the cheap with a nice size screen for when you travel or are at home. How can you go wrong? One of the best investments I made in the last 3 years! Get em before these gems become better known possibly driving the price up more!

PitheS (California) :
I like everything in this laptop, exept the surface it's too glossy and gets dirty quickly. Also Windows 8 is another con, Installed Se7en. Sound is awesome because of the Dolby Home Theater feature. As for the colors and brightness, well it seems normal, I dunno what other rewievers found there.
For such money - great purchase!

Skela (NY) :
I have no idea how people can give such great reviews for this laptop. I have never wrote a review in my life, but this time I just had to say something. Maybe I was one of those unfortunate people to get a messed up laptop, but this is really bad. Internet disconnects, everything takes so long to load, it cant even open up word. When internet connects its so slow, all my wireless computers and laptops that I bought years ago are ten times better and faster. I will try to give it another chance tomorrow, but I am hoping that I can return it ASAP. I just don't understand such great reviews.

Acer Aspire S7-191-6640 11.6-Inch Discounts

Sheryl (Southern California, USA) :
Bought this laptop at micro centet electronics. Loved it first few days then the WiFi started dropping signal randomly. Tried a bunch of software fixes all without success. Read the threads at Acer product support. These laptops have a major wifi hardware problem.

B. Grant (USA) :
This laptop had a lot of potential, but it fell well short, whenever you put the laptop in airplane mode and shut off the WiFi, after you take it out of airplane mode it will not see any wifi networks or connect on its own, it will only connect after you run the troubleshooting program. The other issue is the FAN, it sounds like a jet fighter in afterburner whenever your running video, the FAN is tooooo loud. If you need an 11.6 maybe look at the Mac 11.6. This laptop does come some nice accessories, "Bluetooth Mouse, extended battery, USB Ethernet adapter, USB video adapter.

J. S. Adams "customer" (Nevada, USA) :
In the future they will have larger SSD drives, faster and less power hungry processors, more RAM memory, batteries that last longer and cost less but they probably won't be any prettier, lighter or smaller. If you just can't wait and want an ultraportable with touch now, this is one to seriously consider.

Acer Aspire V5-122P-0600 11.6-Inch Discounts

Nunnehi (Las Vegas) :
I purchased mine directly from Acer because they ran a special on the 6GB ram quad core version for the same price as Amazon has the 4GB quad core for.
I am in real estate and rarely have the ability to plug my laptop in, always on the go. I was a little concerned with all the reviews saying this hardly had any battery life but because of the price and features I was looking I went ahead and took a chance.
I don't sit at my laptop for hours straight but rather use it 10-20-30 minutes at a time. thru the course of the day probably a total of 4-5 hours. on my first day I used the laptop several times and never shut it off. When I got home 16 hours later it still had 35% battery life left. To me that goes way beyond my expectations. I can see that maybe if you want to take it on an 8 hour flight and watch 4 movies back to back that it might die on you but for the average use picking it up thru out the day without ever shutting it off and powering it on, I am quite happy. This gets me thru my 12-16 hour work day without ever having to plug it in. The trick is setting up the right power settings on battery.
I almost purchased a windows tablet. I was looking at the surface and the Iconia w700 but budget came into play for me and im glad I actually have a regular laptop with a full keyboard.
Everyone else might have a bum battery or i might have gotten the one and only gem, either way I am perfectly satisfied.

Breakingben (USA) :
I just received the laptop and set everything up. It's awesome and pretty fast. I love the portable size and the silver color. The touch screen works amazingly. I do like windows 7 better, but windows 8 is pretty easy and useful. This laptop is a great deal. For an 11.6 screen with an AMD A6 processor and 500 GB it's a steal. It is a little slow when downloading programs (I just uploaded Microsoft Office) but I don't mind at all. I'm really just going to use it for music, college, MS Office, and web surfing. Overall: Awesome laptop!

David Cavazos (San Antonio, Texas United States) :
I was looking for a desktop replacement computer that I could move around the house and use in low light environments. This Acer is the perfect compromise between speed/affordability/lit keyboard/touchscreen. It boots up from shutdown in <1 minute and is almost immediately on when starting up from sleep mode. My favorite feature is that similar to a netbook, it connects to the internet even before all the apps load, so once you turn on the computer, you can be online within a few seconds or a minute.

Acer Aspire V5-531P-4129 15.6-Inch Touchscreen Discounts

Walter (Midwest USA) :
I purchased this machine from a different supplier but felt I needed to tell all how great the product is. I read all the complaints about windows 8 and almost didn't purchase this laptop. I felt that there were always people who complain about everything, so I took a chance. Boy am I glad I did. Before the laptop arrived I went on youtube and looked at instructions by Jay and I also have a tablet and am use to apps and a touchscreen. When the laptop arrived it took about an hour or so to apply what I had learned, what FUN, so now I am finding out new things daily. As far as the laptop its self, runs cool, great screen, love the lit keyboard, streams look outstanding.I am not geek just an average computer user who shops on the web, reads and sends emails, plays games, downloads photos, etc. I feel the complaints are not on the laptop but the OS, these are people who do office applications and are use to a different format, but for all of "us" average consumers, this is the affordable machine for us.

Omotayo (Key West, FL) :
This Laptop is one of a kind, the Tablet/PC combination makes it a must have for work and play. Screen touch responds very fast. Its got everything desirable and its really slim and very sleek.

J. Massicotte "Mom" (Connecticut) :
I was amazed I could find a touchscreen laptop with Windows 8 for my parents at such a good price. It has a nice big screen, good quality and the W8 is perfect for the non-computer savvy folks like my parents (mid-60s).

Acer M5-481PT-6644 Touchscreen Ultrabook Discounts

Quy (Ha Noi,VN) :
For the price, this refurbished laptop came with all the bells and whistles that I needed. Touchscreen works great so far and processor is fast and quiet. My only two qualms about this is that the screen could be a tad brighter and the laptop could be a little lighter and it would have been perfect. Other than these minor details, I'm still super happy and give this a max review.

Eggsnoranges (USA) :
Out of the box it seemed like most everything I looked for; it worked well. But after a while the touch screen became intermittent, it worked then wouldn't respond to touch at all. Later it would work again. Acer support didn't seem to understand that this was an intermittent problem and told me to check settings and then ultimately asked me to refresh the operating system. The untrusted touch-screen is a deal breaker for me. Other than that it was a great ultrabook. Maybe I just got a broken one.

Annemarie Strom (Orlando) :
Laptop arrived in excellent condition despite being refurbished. The laptop is thin, the battery really does last about 6-7 hours of usage (web, word processing and videos) and the touchscreen and touchpad work great. The keyboard is nicely laid out, and the back-lit keyboard works well in low-light conditions. Nice to have a optical drive on a Ultrabook-style laptop. Very happy with the purchase, and I will be ordering Acer products in the future!

Acer Aspire S7-391-6468 13.3-Inch Discounts

Lilly (NY) :
I purchased this laptop since it was very thin and lightweight and enables me to carry it around with me. The problem I've been having is with the Wi-Fi connection which keeps dropping. I read a bunch of forums and it seems this is a problem for many others who have this model or older. I've tried some of the fixes suggested by Acer and users on the forum and the thing that helped a bit was the switch on the power settings to high performance although it kills the battery quicker. It still drops the connection but not as much.

Hai Xuan Nguyen (Ha Noi,VN) :
Can't type with the keyboard due to repeated character issue. Touchpad ok not great. Nice design thought. Can't believe the keyboard is that bad. Great amazon.com customer service.

MRB (NYC, USA) :
The ultrabook is awesome, I was due for a notebook update, so I went with the high-end model, 13 inch screen, 1080p, touchscreen, light and portable. However, I use Windows 8 in the classic mode. I don't get their "apps". For that, I use iPad...

Acer 11.6" AO725-0687 Discounts

Danica Jones (fort mill,sc) :
I got this for my husband after he stepped on his old laptop and ruined it (way to go, husband). This one works pretty well, and even though I'm typing this from my Mac and love Macs way more, I have become quite fond of how quick the Acer boots (like one second, literally), how portable it is, and how easy it is to use. My husband still can't figure it out as far as the network setup stuff goes, but I think that's more of a husband problem than a computer problem, since it works fine when I use it. It isn't PERFECT, but this little thing gets the job done nicely.

RocketShipDude (Massachusetts, US) :
My daughter needed a laptop for school and we are a Mac house. Since most of her school uses Google docs, I felt that the cost of a Mac would be ridiculous for the scope of use and the risk for loss or damage. This is a very good compromise. The system needed many Windows 8 updates, but all went well. The only down side that I can see is that the screen plastic frame scratches very easily. Just an esthetics issue. So far so good. I would recommend instead of MacBook Air (unless you have a burning desire to waist money for word processing and web browsing)

Rodbolt100 (Maryland, USA) :
I bought this for my daughter. It is very very slow. It would freeze constantly. I contacted Acer about it ,they said it had a virus. I did not think it had a virus. It was only conected to the internet 1 time and that was to update and set up her account. My daughter does not have internet service. I bought it so she could use it for school. It would not even run Microsoft Word. I sent it back and Amazon refunded my money. Thanks Amazon

Sarahtejas (Worcester, MA) :
I got this Acer touch screen computer about two weeks ago and have been really really happy with it. It's extremely portable -- so small and light it fits in every bag I have. And the touch screen is cool even if I don't use it much (I typically dock into a monitor and keyboard so don't really need touch). And I am using it as my primary work computer so it's on ALL day with lots of open programs, which the processor is handling no problem. I think the only drawback is getting used to Windows 8. Because I use the computer for work I am in Microsoft Office programs all day and those work in "classic" mode so the switching between tiles and classic is a little annoying. But even with that I'd totally recommend it to others. Am even considering buying another one for my daughter as her first computer!

Breakingben (Las Vegas) :

Dmorris164 (Waupaca, WI) :
This is a great laptop and definitely worth the price. I had some issues with the wifi staying connected, but went to Acer's site and downloaded a different driver and now it works perfect! I love the touchscreen! It has everything I need in a computer and very happy with the purchase.

Shelly Johnson (ID. USA) :
This computer is fast, sleek, and advanced for a budget price. The only draw back is that the wifi reception can be a little iffy at times. There has been a few times that my wife and I were sitting right next to each other with laptops at work. Her Lenovo had no apparent issues, whereas this Acer would loose signal or have limited internet connection warnings.

Richard Edstrom (NYC) :
Love almost everything about this laptop, One thing I am not overly excited about is the fact that it came with Window's 8. My last computer was still running Window's XP (yes, that Acer was a dinosaur) and it is taking quite a bit of getting use to Window's 8. One other thing that I wish it had was a Blu Ray player but that isn't that big of a deal. I do love the graphics card in this machine that allows me to work in one program on the built-in monitor, and have an outside feed to my TV through the HDMI port (dual "screen"). It is also very quick to start up and an overall great computer so far!

FELIPE C PEREIRA (Arlington, VA) :
I loved the low weight, the speed and the screen. It is a complete product. A bluetooth mouse and a case are included.
Could be better the noise when using heavy applications like games and the battery. The external battery helps on travels.

B. Grant (Ann Arbor, MI United States) :
This Laptop OS was not quite ready for release, First: IE crashes all the time, the browser is almost non funtional, I use Firefox, and it works great, Second: when you put the laptop in airplane mode, it will not reconnect or see other wifi systems when told to do so, you have to put the laptop in troubleshooting mode to make it reconnect to the wifi system, Third: The fan runs very loud, like a jet engine. If you want a quiet laptop, this one is not for you. The fan runs anytime video runs and sometimes when your just checking email. Now there are some good things about this laptop,it comes with a bluetooth mouse, extended battery, and usb video and usb eithernet cables, also with a really nice carry pouch. The i5 chip and graphics work well. The laptop is maybe the thinest and lightest one in its class. Its a little overpriced for how it performs.

Bickberry  (Salem, OR United States) :
I couldn't wait to receive this laptop, but I was disappointed immediately. The screen had a 1/4 inch spot that was gray when the screen was black. (It wasn't noticable with most colors.) I paid extra for one day shipping and they offered a replacement in four days. I asked for a refund. I'll buy a MAC.

Acer Aspire S7-191-6400 11.6-Inch Discounts

T. K. Sung (SF, CA United States) :
I just can't recommend this effing notebook. The KB is a piece of crap. The missing or double typing is pronounced on e key, the most frequently used one, and that would be bad enough. The cursor sometimes jumps around all by itself and end up wiping out what you typed. Sometimes it backs out of the current page when you type backspace to erase what you typed, and you lose everything that you typed for the past 10 minutes. (You'll be swearing like I do now when that happens.)
There are other things like sharp edges and top lid being smaller than the bottom one making it hard to open even with both hands. But this keyboard problem is a complete deal breaker.

Jamie (US) :
I was looking for a light, sleek, and fast ultrabook and this is the best I could find for the price. It is great looking, came with case, extra battery, wireless mouse and Ethernet/HDMI adapters. The backlighting beneath the keys is a pretty blue and the metal exterior is sleek. Complaints about power button location and difficulty opening the computer are very minor details if you ask me. Windows 8 takes some getting used to. Overall great product and service!

Olivier (MA) :
Came with Windows 8, which is better than I expected once you get to know it a bit. I still prefer to use the keyboard when browsing most of the time but the touchscreen is nice for apps and reading.
The computing power is great for the price (got it a bit under 700 USD). The system reboots in under 10 secoonds. I can run some games on low settings but the fan whirls pretty fast. Other than for intensive use, the fan is quite silent. The form factor is extremely thin but seems well built other than the edges being a little sharp. The touchpad and backlit keyboard are good. The packaging was really nice and made it feel like a premium product, I will be reusing the boxes. Came with extended battery and bluetooth mouse, but no micro-hdmi-to-hdmi adapter. Overall very happy with my purchase.

Tholian Web "RJ" (Newark, CA USA) :
I have a Kindle Fire HD-7 and enjoying it a lot. But having mid life vision it can be trying to see the small fonts. I decided to get a "Chrome" book and was impressed with the Chrome OS. Its a little bigger than a tablet but it is very user friendly for those of us in the 50 to 70 age. It does what I need web browsing, bill paying and basic use. I could not justify paying for more computer than I really need. Its a lot of computer for a small price. It has a learning curve like any new system, but learning is a great way to exercise the mind. I have no regrets buying one. I hope one day they upgrade the USB ports to 3.0....see, I'm getting greedy !!

Paw Paw (California) :
The product arrived as expected and packaged great. I have a MacBook Pro, and wanted to see If the Chrome OS was a functional product for me. The system is actually great and so streamlined to my needs, this is the next best OS system after the Mac OS. I would definitely recommend this OS system to any one who wants a system with a quick start up, ability to run multiple apps with no decline in performance, and a nice size hard drive at a very affordable price.

William K. (Florida) :
I love this thing. A couple points to make.
The photo shows a search button where the caps lock normally is. The product I received has a caps lock button ( unlike the picture ), which is a good thing. I also have learned that there is a blue tooth module built in the pc, but doesn't fully function out of the box ( unrelated to the hardware, it has something to do with Chrome OS not allowing it or something). If you install Chrubuntu, it works perfectly.
Very light weight. easy to use. With Chrubuntu dual booting, you could actually use this as a light weight developer machine.

I purchased the acer aspire one 11.6 with the atom processor back in 2009, we used it extensively throughout South East Asia and all over Europe for work and play, ie Skyping.. Never had any problems, not one.... So the V5-122p-0600 was a no brainer... Absolutely love it... I find many reviews from the super techy types, condescending with a hint of pompous... Pay them no mind, this Acer is perfect...

Laurka (Homer, AK USA) :
I like this computer, so far, very much. I like how it is small and lightweight. The sound is not great, a little "tinny", and I listen to Pandora most of the time. But considering the small size and low price, I figure that goes with the territory. I have adjusted. It has Windows 8, which I am getting used to. Really, I don't use the majority of the options, never even took the time to figure them out. I just click on my desktop icon and cruise from there. I read a lot of reviews for a lot of computers before I chose this. Then I read the Amazon customer review for this and was impressed enough to decide this computer was close enough to what I wanted, and bought it.

Vladimir Sukalovic (NILES, IL, US) :
Three years ago, I purchased same size, Acer Timeline X laptop. I was completely satisfied with it, so I decided to go again with Acer and buy same size laptop, with faster CPU, more RAM and bigger hard disk. What I expected is - same size, same weight, same battery life and improved speed. What I got is more speed, but battery life is shorter, laptop is considerably hotter and sometimes it gets very hot, on the left side. I would give it a 4 star rating, but the keyboard is worst then on Timeline X (space bar skips a stroke if pressed on front edge, you have to push it straight in the middle). Another star down, because of Windows 8 operating system. Yes it is nice to include new version of windows with the laptop, but using Windows 8 with laptop without touch screen is like picking your nose wile wearing gloves. All in all, I was more pleased with old Timeline X, and this laptop didn't meet all my expectations.

Chattykathy (Chicago) :
I found this laptop quite satisfactory. The keyboard and touch-pad function very well. Windows 8 takes some getting used to, but was made much easier for me by this great laptop. When writing and working, the performance is pretty steady. However, when playing graphic intensive games the processor flounders slightly. This is a good laptop for the price.

This machine is basically used for email, surfing the web and invoicing. So, in a way, we may have over shot on what we really needed. But the laptop is great for so much more. The graphics are great. 8 Gigs of RAM. The build is sturdy, strong, love the overall finish of the product.
When looking for a laptop, this one stood out just because it was a great price and the machine will last us about 3-5 years easy.

Jessica (MN, USA) :
I have been using the S7 for about 3 days now and love it! the touchscreen is fantastic with Win 8. The keyboard is a little shallow but you get used to it. No problem with the wi-fi like some have mentioned. The only thing I would have liked to see is longer battery life. Also I purchased the Targus USB 3.0 Dual Video Docking Station and it works great with the S7; super helpful with my dual monitors and other peripherals

HDGuy (CA, USA) :
This laptop is fast and responsive. It is so light and thin that I find myself reaching for it rather than my IPad. The touchscreen is extremely responsive and really a necessity to appreciate Windows 8. My only complaint is that the keys are difficult to read, especially in poor light There is insufficient contrast between the light green backlighting and the silver keys, and the backlighting itself is inadequate. This is a minor point, however, in what otherwise has been a great computer experience.

Michael Orlinski (Wasatch Mts.) :
This is a great little ultrabook. Works well as a out of office working laptop. My only chief complaint is that the amazing looking glass does get dirty often, but Acer nicely provides microfiber cloth and fleece lined case to help with that. The machine feels very solid even when using the touchscreen.

Ted D. Turner (las vegas, NV, US) :
This brand new laptop arrived in late June 2013 and upon unpacking I was in love. It did have a dead battery but worked on the power brick while charging. That day was my first time using Win8 I was not impressed at all with the stupid changes by Microsoft and wished I had the very same machine with Win7 instead. After a few hours I learned what I needed to mostly turn off the new features from Microsoft so it worked like Win7. However I then had to go online to download a tiny bit of software from PC World magazine that enabled me to add an icon to the taskbar that was labeled "Shutdown PC". That worked great. So far this computer has performed much better (except for the crappy Win8) than my old laptop and cost just over half as much. If Acer would offer an option to order this unit with Win7 installed I would have given it the highest rating available. My favorite thing about it is the price.

Not much I can say here other than I got what I bought. It's an Acer, it has everything I need, and it works. If these are the specifications you are looking for in a laptop then you will be happy with this one, provided you don't get a lemon which seems to happen with all manufacturers these days. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Peri L. Erdmann "Peri" (Aberdeen, SD USA) :
I like this computer very much! I love the weight! I love the feel! My techie son helped me select this.
I would love to have given 5 Stars but the Mouse isn't great. It is over-sensitive when I don't want it and not sensitive when I try to use it specifically. How does that happen????????????????? I wish I knew. It is really frustrating to have my mouse automatically highlight and delete and move to different parts of the screen while I'm typing.
Other than that, I really would recommend it!

Michael J. Sutton (Westminster College, Gore School of Business, Salt Lake City, UT) :
I was very impressed with the arrival of my netbook. I needed an inexpensive netbook because my recent tablet fried itself. The netbook arrived in excellent condition. Out of the box it was up and working. I needed to spend about 8 hours going through updates to the Windows operating system. But i expected having to reboot after upgrades, since this has happened before with other computers who had an initial image of the WIN 7 operating system when it was manufactured, but needed to catch up. Keyboard is acceptable. Glide mouse works great. Sreen is ample when I am in Starbucks, but I plug into a larger Acer flat screen when I work from home.

Xavier (NY) :
Literally to be used for online web surfing and other quick minor cpu uses...the color is all black don't be fooled by the picture. No disc drive just so you know...besides that its pretty stylish small, compact and light. I would say perfect for the person who is constantly on the go. Also makes my backpack a lot lighter than my last laptop, perfect for college students.

Kelsey Marquez (GA):
It is the best thing, I think, I could have found for the size and specs I wanted. I'm not crazy about the 1 GHz however it does have more Ram then most little computers, I believe. I am very please with it; I was nervous about getting a computer small then my Viao, but I really do like it. I would have to say what I don't like about it is the top is a finger print magnet and the charger hook up is kinda tricky to plug in. It is a bit slow, but that's only because I'm going from a 2.4 GHz to a 1. All in all, it's little, a Windows 7 (yay!) and gets what I need for my classes done. I would recommend this computer.

Linden (Springfield, MO United States) :
I bought this computer to play games and, it runs very well. Super fast super fast. It can run any new game at high to medium highish settings which is great, I also edit videos and it does that very well to. All in its probably the best laptop you can get under 1000.

Aaron Trask (Reno, NV USA) :
This is a great laptop with very good performance for the price. I use it more as a portable desktop, so I won't comment on battery life as I usually have it plugged in. The only reason I won't give it 5 stars is the Windows 8 operating system is horrible on a device like this. I could understand its usefulness if there was a touch screen, but still I'm not a fan of Windows 8. I attempted to call Acer to see if I could downgrade to Windows 7, but they told me that it was not supported. I also called Microsoft to see if they would allow the downgrade, but they too denied me. I ended up moving a previous Windows 7 license to this machine and have had no problems (though Acer warned me that it may violate my warranty).

David (New York, NY) :
Great machine for the price. Fast, good boot. Video apps run good. Even handles my SolidWorks (my 3D modeling program) well. Quiet., screen is good. Construction seems a bit cheap. Sound is ok but I have never seen a sound on a laptop sound great Dislike windows 8, and not cause it is new, its just more cumbersome to get to where you want to go. Especially for configuring the system or components.

Sharif Anani (CA) :
I agree with the previous reviewer about the keyboard issue, it does take a bit of getting used to. The screen can feel a little climsy sometimes, but its fine and i have no hinge/frame problems so far. So far I've only used it to play Civilization V, which is more of a CPU rather than GPU game, and it ran the game fine on the automated settings (Medium-High). I'm going to intall CODMW3 on it and see how it performs :) the battery life is a downer though, can't do much unplugged (study at a coffee shop, having a long skype video call, etc...)

Mary Johansen (US) :
Unfortunately, I forgot to note that this computer doesn't have a disk tray before I bought it. Nothing that's too difficult to work with, and it's definitely my fault for missing that, but just a note. Otherwise, computer is great. Very sleek, very fast. Great for gaming.

Andrey Zvyagilskiy (Oregon) :
I only used this laptop for a few days and it is going back. Unless you are looking at some perfect angle green becomes black and black becomes grey.

Fyah1 (Santa Rosa, CA, US):
Bought this laptop after my hp g72 went dead, and i must say it was a great buy. windows 8 is good but takes getting used to, the shipping was great as usual from amazon. it worked great after the initial out of box setup. connected to my wifi easily and removing the bloatware was the same

Kevin D. Crouch (St Kitts & Nevis):
The Acer laptop met all my expectations. The screen is very large and extremely clear and I liked the built-in wireless Wi-FI connectivity. I was totally unfamiliar with Windows 8, so that took some time to research on the web, but I found several sites that provided step-by-step instructions on how to use and revise the appearance and location for the apps on the menu screen. I've had the computer for two weeks and am very satisfied with everything. Even the Acer support line was very responsive. I have no regrets about this purchase.

Halowing (Yangzhou, Jiangsu) :
Easy setup. Beautiful visuals. Love the large keyboard and the separate number pad. Jury is still out on windows 8 seems like too much stuff that is distracting but I will keep trying to adapt.
